Announcing Our 2018 Executive Officers

Margo Toland, Insurance & Risk Manager for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, was recently elected as President of The Greater Philadelphia Executive Claims Council, following Lance Morell, Director of Risk Management at Parx Casino & Racing, who will continue as the immediate past president.

“We have recently reorganized the program offerings and membership of GPECC and I am excited to lead this new initiative,” remarked Toland.  “Of course, Lance Morell’s shoes will be hard to fill!”

GPECC represents executive leaders in the claims area with a monthly Power Hour series geared toward trending topics and trusted conversations among colleagues. “We are confident that our expanding Power Hour Series, supported by our annual sponsors, will provide a robust educational opportunity for the employer members in a trusted space where we can share experiences and seek advice from our peers,” shared Toland.

In addition to Toland and Morell, GPECC officers include Vice President Jane Lamb, Director of Risk Management for Philadelphia Gas Works, and Treasurer Lisa Iamonaco, Claims Manager at TRISTAR Risk Management.


Meet Our Board Members

Margo Toland
GPECC President

Archdiocese of Philadelphia

Margo Toland has been elected as the President of GPECC. Toland currently serves as the Insurance & Risk Manager for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Prior to working for the Archdiocese, Toland started her career as a workers’ compensation adjuster at Consolidated Risk Services (now AVI Risk Services), rising through the organization to become Senior Account Executive. Toland’s primary experience is in Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance programs, but has gained extensive knowledge in Liability, Property, and Automobile claims programs since joining the Archdiocese.  Toland holds a bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s Degree in Organizational and Strategic Leadership from Neumann University.  She also holds an Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and an Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P) designations.

Lance Morell

Parx Casino & Racetrack

Lance Morell, GPECC Immediate Past President, is the Director of Risk Management at Parx Casino & Racing. In addition to his many duties at Parx, Lance is the past Chairman and current Eastern Representative for the Organization of Racing Investigators (ORI). Since 2013, he has been a council member of The Public Assembly Facility Sub-sector Council (PAFSC) which is a voluntary industry group intended to serve as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security sub-sector for stadiums, arenas, convention centers, performing arts centers, auditoriums, conference centers, movie theaters, and race tracks. Morell is also a current member of the Delaware Valley Financial Security Officers Group (DVFSOG) and in January of 2016 was appointed to the Bensalem Emergency Management Advisory Board.

Jane Lamb

Philadelphia Gas Works

Jane Lamb joins the GPECC Leadership Team as Vice President. Lamb is Director of Risk Management for Philadelphia Gas Works and has long been active in the Workers’ Compensation community.  Since 2008, she has served on the Board of the Pennsylvania Self Insurers’ Association.  She speaks regularly at professional conferences, most recently presenting Employers’ Wave of the Future: Company Wellness Programs at the PSIA Annual Meeting in 2013 and Employers Unplugged: Make Those 90 Days Count at the 12th Annual Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Conference.   Additionally, she is active in the utility industry, serving as chair of the American Gas Association Risk Management Committee Annual Meeting in 2013.  In 2014, she was an instructor for a CLE and roundtable entitled “Ethics in 2014: Across the Board” for AEGIS, the premier energy industry insurance mutual.  Lamb received her J.D. from Temple University School of Law and her A.B. in History from Bryn Mawr College.

Lisa Iamonaco

Lisa Iamonaco will continue as GPECC Treasurer. Iamonaco is Claims Manager at TRISTAR Risk Management. She has 37 years of experience in the insurance industry, beginning her career at The Hartford in 1979 as a multi-line claim representative in Connecticut and then as an outside claim representative in Rhode Island handling automobile, general liability, property and workers’ compensation claims.  Iamonaco joined the Philadelphia office of Home Insurance Company in 1982 as a workers’ compensation claim representative handling claims in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  She became a workers’ compensation supervisor in 1990 and the workers’ compensation claims manager in TRISTAR Risk Management’s Philadelphia office in 1995, following the sale of the Home Insurance Company.  In May 2000, Iamonaco became the Claims Manager responsible for the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices for casualty and workers’ compensation and currently oversees offices in Cranbury, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. Iamonaco has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island.  She holds an insurance adjuster license in the State of Delaware for property, casualty, surety, motor vehicle and marine & transportation, as well as a company adjuster license in West Virginia.  She holds the Associate in Claims designation and the Associate in Risk Management designation.

Joseph Cianciulli

Joseph Cianciulli will continue as the GPECC Sponsorship Chair. Cianciulli is Senior Vice President at Marsh USA, Inc. His current responsibilities include management of the casualty claim staff in the Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, Richmond, VA; and Washington, DC operations.  Additional responsibilities include account coordination, claim advocacy, project management and multiple aspects of claim consulting, designing and implementing claims service programs for the firm’s clients, resolving coverage issues, providing guidance in the preparation, presentation and adjustment of claims, operation and reserve analysis, benchmarking, gainsharing, process flow design, quality control claims auditing and providing consultative guidance on risk analysis, on an ad hoc basis. Cianciulli joined Marsh as a claims manager of the Wilmington, Delaware branch in 1989, having supervised property damage, workers compensation, and liability claims units in the Philadelphia area office of a prominent direct writing insurer.  He was later a division claims examiner for another major carrier, having direct management accountability for two claims offices.  He was also a client executive for several of the Wilmington branch’s clients.  He has spoken at seminars on cost containment and claim best practices measures.  Cianciulli has worked with clients in a variety of industry groups including chemical, government, life sciences, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail, sports and entertainment and telecommunications. Cianciulli holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

Joseph Casciato

Joseph Casciato has over 25 years in the Insurance Claims Industry and holds a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from Philadelphia University. Prior to assuming the role of Workers Compensation Manager for Jefferson Health System, he worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Kemper National Home Insurance, and Zurich North America. He has served as President of the Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation Claims Association, Vice President of GPECC, and Treasurer of GPECC.

Robert Celestino
Vice President Risk Management
J.J. White

Robert is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mathematical Science and minoring in Statistical Theory. Robert also maintains a Commercial Insurance Producer’s License in Pennsylvania.  In addition to his 24+ year work history with JJ White, Inc. as both an employee, and a service team leader for a previous insurer of  JJ White, Robert’s experience further include working as a claims adjuster, catastrophic casualty adjuster, subrogation claims unit manager, for a third party claims administrator, commercial insurer, and an insurance agency. This collective array of work experiences have provided him with a unique skillset in the insurance industry. Throughout his carrier, he has developed and implemented several innovative and successful loss control, and loss prevention programs specific to the contracting industry. His efforts continually add new dimensions and perspectives within the JJ White organization where he leads the Safety/Risk Management department as it continually focuses on enhancing its culture of safety, as well as financing and mitigating its commercial risks.

Robert is a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, where he resides in Delaware County with his wife Sandy, and their two cats, Jingles & Thumper, and Tundra, their Alaskan Malamute.
